I realize that the care and protection of so many species in any single sheltered area, is a daunting task. I was both shocked and deeply troubled when I chanced upon this video of the Chimpanzee enclosure in the Asahikawa Zoo in Japan. In all my thousands of Animal Videos, that I have watched in various media, I have seen nothing comparable to the atrocious condition of these amazing animals. I had seen this troop before and seem to recall them as being called, a "difficult" charge. Their health is questionable, their small lockdown area is barely green. They seem to not have enough nourishment to sustain their bodies. Their hair is so sparse, that the "Baby", has little to hold onto and obviously not enough breast milk to survive on. The Baby was so adorable and everybody loved him. What was his name? I can envision this troop in alternative environments with lots of leaves, and grass and trees and fresh air and sunshine and soft straw and blankets to give them some degree of comfort. My heart just breaks for them and the poor helpless Baby, who should have been monitored more closely and should not have died. There needs to be some way to help these poor animals. There needs to be more caretakers, more staff, more interaction with stimulating toys or trees. Chimps are not meant to live in cement boxes . I'm sure everyone there loves animals. There seems to be a major funding problem. Where is Jane Goodall ? I have never seen such a dire and disturbing representation of a troop of Chimps held against their will in cages and cement without a tree. I don't know when this film was made, but I hope it was so long ago, that things have changed and the animals in the care of this " profit based enterprise" are happy and thriving in a new and better sanctuary.
Over grooming ( hair loss. Bare spots) is common in captivity because they spend less time looking for food more time being social. If a baby dies in the wild we don’t raise an eyebrow it happens but in captivity why indeed.
@@BougieBlue No... this is mange. It happens when a lot of animals are kept in close quarters together and not cared for properly. It is easily manageable, I don't understand why it's not being treated. As for the baby, yes babies in the wild do die however, in captivity the likelihood is greatly reduced with proper monitoring of their health. And to die at over 12 weeks of age, in an area where there is no predators or other dangers, is very suspicious of neglect.
Not only does the baby look malnourished, but the adults look sickly as well. They're over grooming each other due to boredom. These people lack the knowledge it takes to take care of these great apes. This sickens me.
Despite lots of glowing online reviews, just one look at the videos coming out of this zoo tells you why these animals are suffering in their concrete and iron hell. The baby was likely killed by some form of stress-related neglect / lack of care. They look AWFUL and the owners should be ashamed.
Agreed! I've never seen chimps that look this unhealthy. That baby should've been removed. I don't even know what else to say other then I'm sad and disgusted.💔
@@StoneInMySandal This particular zoo is known for inadequate care, which is readily apparent by the conditions of the enclosure, especially compared to enclosures in Japan like Higashiyama. People have completely valid reasons to question if the infant's death was related to the environment or poor keeper management. More importantly, the University of Kent study by Lowe & Newton-Fisher concerning infanticide observed a single wild chimpanzee family group that already had a higher rate of infanticide than other groups. Infanticide was considered rare , which is stated in the paper. The Kent study's group were also a wild group, this being a captive group, ethical questions about how human/keeper involvement in these scenarios are understandable as many conditions potentially contributing to the infant's death have been imposed by their captivity. Cheers, xx
I was thinking the same thing , The males were the ones to notice she wasn’t taking are of her and they played holding her etc these chimps were better fathers than some human ones I’ve seen. Furt should have been fixed she doesn’t want nor can feed or take care of anymore babies. I don’t think we will know what happened to her but it surely wasn’t the males because they showed nothing but love and concern for her.
I've been watching gorillaz and chimpanzees story's For quite some time in these monkeys look very sick Hungry and you! Something aint right. If they was in my country USA they would have been charged
I was almost crying throughout this video. Not because I knew the baby would die, but because seeing animals in a shelter so clearly not right for them, and every single one so clearly underweight and under stimulated, made me so sad. THIS IS NO WAY TO TREAT ANIMALS. ESPECIALLY ANIMALS AS SMART AS A CHIMPANZEE. THEY NEED A FAR BETTER ENCLOSURE AND ALOT MORE FOOD.
Chimps learn by watching their mothers and others in its group in the wild. These chimps.are raised in captivity and.do not get to learn like in the wild where most females would have an offspring every 5 years. If she did not care for the infant she would have just walked away after it was born. I personally.do not like zoos when I was young they would be in smaller cages. Mind you they did change and give them more room but it is still not like the wild chimps in the wild have huge territories because of food sources trees will bare fruit or nuts at different times of the year and chimps will defend their territories to secure food sources. I understand that zoos are helping to keep species alive but they need more room.plus in the wild females once they hit sexual maturity will leave to keep from having a incestuous troop
@@stephenhearn4582 actually it's males that leave, i believe they have observed some group M females leaving and going into a new group, but it is rare. This is with most primate groups, the males will go off and join or create a new troop/group
She danglesthe baby a lot, but, as others have stated, Furt doesn't have enough hair. For the baby to cling to. It was at great risk of falling or being dropped.
How’s Furt been acting since she lost the little one? I’m not a primatologist nor do I claim to be an expert in chimp parenting behavior. But I think how she acts these first few days will give us an indication if she’s depressed and misses her or (I hate to say it) but glad the little one is gone.
@@cherokeeheartct8633 itcwas stated that the baby died of traumatic head injuries. The zoo claims that they do not think it was from a fall but instead from rough play by its male sibling.
Healthy chimps don't lose their body hair. The whole troop appears to be in poor condition, and housed in a manner that is devoid of enrichment and any sort of natural-like habitat - a teeny patch of grass and a culvert just doesn't cut it. Shame on this zoo for its poor practices that cost the life of this infant chimp and for the neglect of the physical and mental well-being of its adult animals as well. Let's hope the Japanese government steps in and shuts down this poor excuse for a zoo and sends the animals its been neglecting to a sanctuary where they can get the care they deserve.
I’m a horse/dog person. Not crazy about chimps. But if one of my critters had the outwards superficial appearance of these chimps, I’d be on the phone to my vet and on the way to the feed store to upgrade their nutrition. Horses are herd animals, but I would never keep them together if all they did was fight. I realize these are not domesticated animals. But when confined to a zoo, caretakers must step in to insure all are safe. This zoo setting looks just awful. And have to add that it seems these chimps would be susceptible to sunburn without any coat.
Agreed 100%!!! These chimps look like they have mange! They are ripping their hair out from stress and are clearly malnourished … they just look awful…
I am in awe of the way these chimps look. Their skin is so so dry and the mother has no hair to even keep her baby warm and secured. Something isn't right just looking at these chimps doesn't take a rocket scientist to know this. 🤨🥺🧐
I usually don't like the zookeepers interfering with any animals at the zoo BUT clearly their LACK of interfering and not caring enough to make sure the poor baby was properly getting cared for caused this poor little chimps unnecessary passing. I completely put the death of this chimp on their heads. Any other reputable zoo would have taken every action to keep the newborn and momma both safe and well cared for.
So true @Tarina. The same happened at Kyotocity zoo in Japan and the staff took over. This happened in 2011. Mom Genki is a beautiful caring, shielding mother but the baby boy was not getting enough milk from mom. Now he's a big healthy 11 yr. old living with his mom, dad and 3 yr. old baby brother. By the time baby brother was born mom made enough milk for him and he's thriving and is quite cute funny little fellow!
2 observations: 1) The troop seems to have a bizarre culture... a lot of stress and tension. 2) The baby seemed to have oddly developed genitalia... like she had a disorder.
I thought the same thing. It seemed swollen and enlarged. Very sad. The whole situation is very sad. But, I did see an outdoor space that of the males had the baby outside with him.
This is so upsetting! I agree with everyone, the zoo should have taken the baby. While I know it can be difficult, I honestly think the baby could have been sent to Tama, hand reared as needed, then introduced to the troop. So many of the ladies there want a baby and one thing is for certain, the whole troop loves babies. This is heartbreaking, as you noted, there is only one keeper at Asahikawa, which is just impossible. Is there anything we can do to support asking the zoo to make much needed changes? Thank you for keeping us up to date, I know this had to be very hard for you!
Not all Tama babies live happily ever after, Cherry killed two babies bc she was jealous of the mothers, and I think it's happened three times at Tama.
This is not a zoo, this is a concentration camp. They should be accused of animal abuse! I've seen these chimpanzees before, but I stopped looking at them for a while, because it's hard to look at animals condemned to humans that look like mutants from a horror movie. I visit many Zoos and believe that Asia has no idea of the conditions in which animals should be kept (there are exceptions, but few). Here we have chimpanzees with advanced skin disease (scabies?) Because it is not a result of stress, although looking at this inner rundown it is also likely Old female who should be vesterilized giving birth to a child who is rejected from the first moment and where are the caregivers, where are is the vet blind? It was only a matter of time before this child died, and it was strange that it lived as a toy for other chimpanzees for so long, I don't see food in those empty mother's breasts, except that she doesn't feel like taking care of it, wants to get rid of it, and she finally made it. You could put the mother to sleep and take the baby, even though she was so abandoned that it would have been possible to give them all something good to eat, because they don't look well fed either! This death is the fault of the zoo and they should be punished, only the pity of the creature that died. I am also surprised by visitors that they do not see what these chimpanzees look terrible and are amused instead of complaining about the treatment of the animals!
The mothers breast milk wasn't full was she producing milk? She is really old and i am surprised she gave birth to a healthy lil' girl. It was afterwards this baby died and yes this zoo should have seen it coming. Does anyone know these chimps and other monkeys are trapped and eaten by Africa ppl. The baby they just leave their to die. It does look like a concentration camp I mean look at the Champs that says it all
Those people do not give one cent worth about how those animals are doing.Babies dying left n right. All the babies born there that have died is on their ✋️.what a Shame
@@cherokeeheartct8633 Right they don't give ONE CENT for these Animals.. but WILL TAKE everybody's 2 $$'s from the visitors there & right here from these RUclips vids we are all watching, watch again n again why don't we just keep supporting this treatment that we're complaining about
I began calling the baby Miracle because the zoo didn't even name her. Poor Miracle deserved better and it makes me so sad that she didn't get it. I am not a big fan of zookeepers stepping in for no good reason, but baby Miracle clearly needed help. I am crying and I am angry and I am sad. I wish Miracle could have known that many of us loved her and were hoping she'd make it.
My thoughts too the mom kept handing the baby over that there was telling enough plus all of them nearly all have alopecia stress I wonder maybe look at the food take bloods something ain't right wee soul couldn't keep warm as she had barely thick hair and poor mom had naen I hope they do some serious thinking to what has happened again and try to look at other zoo s maybe learn that it's not a matter of putting them all in a cage and feeding them the same stuff everyday and the honeywater to as I read that's not good anyway I hope things change and sterilise old moms. Wee miracle rip
This is so very sad, and I am angry, because the zoo keepers did nothing to prevent it from happening! They have to do better with saving these species, and I was under the impression that what all zoos around the world were doing!!!!
@@ginettevillemaire4029I agree, they look awful. But they are apes 😊 monkeys have tails. I don’t understand why that mother kept passing that baby off to the others. That one younger one( don’t know his name) kept hitting and biting the poor little baby. I just don’t get why the keepers didn’t remove him. 😢😢
You did a lovely job on this video. It's horrible what that little baby had to endure thanks to this horrible zoo. The members of this troop did an amazing job trying to help Furt with her baby. She was too old & the others didn't know how to properly care for a baby as they aren't moms. They may have been too rough with her & careless at times but they showed that baby a lot of love. My heart is broken for all of them. 💔😢
What? They should have taken this baby and reared it. That is also not true that none of the others knew how to care for a baby. There have been other babies born to this troop. You sound silly talking about how they showed it love but yet were so careless and rough ...they saw this baby as an object and at best a toy.
This is so sad but definitely not a surprise 😕 This poor little baby didn't have proper nurturing. This was a very sad situation 😢 Thankyou for letting us know 🙏
This is so sad! I was barely able to watch the videos with the sweet baby! The Mother handing the poor little one off, dangling by its arm. The zoo definitely should have stepped in! My heart just breaks for that sweet little baby!!
@@StoneInMySandal thousands of zoos and sanctuaries have managed to figure out how to keep chimpanzees happy and healthy for many many years. This place is just a disgusting hell hole that these poor chimps to live out their one precious life in. There’s no excuse possible to have chimps in this state and any primate expert, or even regular person could see this infant needed to be removed from this troop. I can’t believe this place is up and running. They should be embarrassed at the condition of these animals, not happily showing them on RUclips. Just showcasing how neglected their chimps are.
May I but in a moment try watching Gorilla World the Silverbacks and babies there families.i just love em. I call the Silverbacks Momotarou is a Silver backñ
Yes, Mo's family is amazing...I watch mostly Gorilla families & Monkey World...as an empath, I have a hard time with chimps & how hard they can be on each other & the babies. It stresses me out too much. These chimps look awful & it's clear when the boys have the baby more than mom, there is a HUGE problem & the should have intervened immediately! Even the Gorillas in Japan (ie Mo, Genki & kids) live in pretty bad conditions, but their keepers do their very best. Grrr...this video has me SO upset. Every single Great Ape counts these days...🥺😡
@@paulhall1239 watch videos of this baby, and this zoo in particular...this baby's mom was quite old at 42...at first she was very attentive and an excellent mother, but as time went on, she seemed to just give up...and would pass the baby off to whoever would take it... usually one of the rowdy young male troop members. If I had to take a guess at what happened, it's possible that the baby fell off of one of the metal structures on the indoor enclosure. Just my guess, though. There's also some serious inbreeding going on with this troop... according to the GAIN database, Eve, the adult daughter of Furt, was fathered by Furt's own father . This baby was possibly fathered by Furt's grandson, Haruki.
@@non_serviam yes possibly a fatal fall or accident causing an internal injury which it sadly died from. Its difficult to find out the truth rather that speculate. 20% of babies die in the first 6 months from accidents malnutrition or an infection. The baby certainly was not malnourished, that leaves accidents and an infection. We never saw the dead babies body so whether or not any brusing was visible one cannot say. IMHO. Sad loss.
Rest in peace little one ,your life here on earth was so short but you were here long enough to feel love each and every day of you little life ! You will be missed dearly !
This is wholly the fault of the zoo. It was clear the infant was being mistreated and should have been removed. If you are going to keep them in captivity, in a completely abnormal environment, you need to step in when things aren’t working properly.
💯per cent I Agree With You,That Poor Baby Was Passed Around Like S_ _ _ And No Other Wanted To Be Bother,I've Never Seem Such Cruelty😭Rip Little One 🐒 You Never Had Achance Here!
This is so inhumane. The zookeepers should have stepped in when they realized the mom was not interested in the baby. Any good mom (even chimps) would not let the males take the baby and sling it on one arm or even take the baby away from her for that fact. This place needs to be shut down immediately
Not true. Ape fathers are ALWAYS involved in the rearing. Not so much with monkeys, but ape dads help the mother a lot. Other community members trusted by the parents can also take part in rearing the babies. Sons are often preferred by the fathers but they take care of daughters just as carefully.
Thank you, V. The other video I've seen of this baby had a lot of captioning. Many of the individuals were identified by name, along with their relationships to Furt, as the fact is that they are ALL related to her. All but one, an adult female, and she is the one and only that Furt would not trust with the baby. Not, apparently, for anything the other has actually done, but simply because she's not related. So this is a clan. Every single one of the chimps that were given babysitting duty was a close blood relative through the mother. And every one who accepted the job took it seriously, and took excellent care of her. It may not be "normal", but I can't see anything but good in this. I don't see any reason to believe that, as some have suggested, Furt didn't want the baby. Had this been the case, she could certainly have abandoned it or killed it. I think she was just tired. But the baby was never left alone. Never. Everyone, having had custody, then handed it back; never was she just left to then be retrieved by mom. I also don't see her (baby) looking malnourished. Maybe the thinning hair caused people to think that. But that condition appears to be endemic to these chimps, and in fact seems to extremely common in all of the chimps in captivity whose videos are being posted recently. I agree that something is wrong, I'm not trying to normalize this, I just don't think it's life-threatening, or a sign of something that is. Other than stress, maybe. And I don't see any reason to think this baby was abnormally stressed. In fact, one of the few good things that can be said about zoos is that survival itself - getting enough to eat, and avoiding being eaten in turn, or otherwise killed by other animals - is no longer a source of stress at all. For a baby, too young to feel the other stresses of captivity, this should be a clear win. So I just don't see what was so obviously a cry for intervention. I see a very healthy, normal baby, being very well cared for by its entire clan, and with no trouble feeding from its aged mom. My impressions are, of course, just as subjective, and just as limited by video editing, as anyone else's. But it takes time for a baby to waste away from malnutrition, or from illness, and there are highly visible signs - highly visible, not arguable, like whatever some have seen here but I have not - both in the baby's appearance, and in her behavior. They don't just give up from Day 1 without any struggle or complaint. They will fight for what they feel they need, and they will holler and cry and make a nuisance of themselves if they're being neglected or denied in any way. I don't see any of that, either. So, people, lay off. Yeah, it's a shitty enclosure, but it could be worse. They're well feed, they're not stressed or unhappy enough to be self-harming, or trying to murder each other. Whatever happened to this baby is tragic, but sometimes things just are that, and there really isn't anyone to blame. How about waiting for a cause of death and some connecting causal details before pointing fingers. Hmm?
Get a petition I will sign it I agree with u and as far as I no this isn't the first baby to die as I have heard there have been alot of babies pass away
Over the past month I seen the neglect when a mother will not let the baby suckle it's zoo responsibility to take care of the health of the baby he's not in the wild he's in your care where he was I so glad I'm not in Japan right now I'm in the USA that probably end up in jail someone needs to be held responsible
@@anitakristensen4679 so shouldn’t say a country they can do anything they want to Ascension being? That thing is, they’re not in nature we in a rapid, he didn’t have them and put them back in the wild they kept in the cage, a controlled environment therefore responsible
This is so sad to hear. I was concerned about the way the mother was handing the baby off and carrying him by one arm. I have never seen chimps look so.. harsh and sick. 😭 Can someone tell me why do theses chimps look like this. They do look sick and the baby was the only that actually looked healthy.
I agree with you I am never and I have been a fan of chimps my whole life and I have never seen chimpanzees look this way never never ever it's horrible they could have saved that baby's life
The baldness is from over grooming each other. In the wild it’s done to bond. In bondage, they also do it out of stress. I asked another site about other bald chimps and that was their response.
To keep all these monkeys in the zoo is not a matter of joke. They must be allow to go freely in the wild forest as they are made to live. Why should they be keep inside the zoo without any movement. 😊😇
So what was the cause of death??The beginning of video the baby was moving around being curious, acting like a young little chimp. Why did this baby die??
In Whole Troop Only the Baby Was So Beautiful and it's Precious Eyes Just Started to Explore and See New Things. And It is Very Bad and Sad that Zoo Couldn't Managed to Keep Baby in Safe Environment. 😒☹️😕 How Did Baby Died? 🥺 Rest In Peace Baby Soul. 💜💜
This was sadly just a matter of time. Furt is too old & tired to protect and raise infants. They need constant protection. Their heads are just as vulnerable as human infants. Handing baby off to other chimps, as Furt did, sealed his fate. Their are countless ways the other chimps could have killed him. Dragging, dropping squeezing, etc.
The way the baby was handed around was exhausting. Poor babe. I am surprised she wasn't separated very early and either given to a single surrogate or to be hand reared by staff.
@@Girly92 Below is an automatic translation of the Asahiyama Zoo official news blog into English. A chimpanzee cub born on June 22nd died on September 27th. Before 10:00 a.m. on September 27, an individual in the herd held the cub in its hands and was hanging. Because the cub was motionless, the herd was housed in a bedroom and the parent and child were isolated, but the cub was visually confirmed dead. . In the recorded image, at around 9:44 in the morning, two young males of the herd that had been entrusted with their cubs by their mother, Hult, were taking care of them on the bed next to Hult. was gone. As of 19:00 on the 28th, an autopsy was not possible because Furt did not let go of the child, but as far as I can see from the image, the child was not lifted or hung, so the cause of death is tentatively diagnosed as death due to pressure etc. increase.
Very sad. Dear Baby, live a beautiful life in heaven. 🌹🌸🌈 And yes, it seems that this zoo is not a healthy place for chimpanzees. I hope they do better for the sake of these precious great apes, so much like us. They would never keep humans in this place. Why chimpanzees?
Someone really needs to look into this zoo for neglect. Almost every single one of those chimps has something wrong with it. The hair loss could be alopecia but hair loss also happens when they are stressed and also when they are not getting their dietary/nutritional needs met. If the mother isn't healthy the offspring likely won't be healthy either. These animals do NOT look healthy at all.
I am so sad to see this dear little baby like this I think poor Furt should have been on birth control her age was not for having another baby. I worried so much over this. This Zoo should be ashamed for allowing this to happen in the first place. I worry that they are all losing their fur. Whilst the zoo feeds them sugar water and not enough nourishment. Thank you for sharing this with us. It has taken me a while to be able to watch the video as it is so sad.
What a shame how these highly intelligent Chimpanzees live in a such poor environment and losing precious little life like that😭 They all look mulnerished without much hair on them.
Mom seems so distracted! And the little one is finding it hard to find enough hair to grab and hold on to! Wish they had been left inside where they could have bonded better and observed more closely.
That enclosure is the saddest the most hopeless place I have ever seen. no living thing could Thrive or be happy there. the people owning it should go. and never be allowed to work with another living thing! because there isn't any Redemption for them. and that baby had no chance I hope they close it down and very quickly at that! peace be.
I know nothing about this channel and what happened, but I'm going to comment anyway. It seems to me that any zoo that has a baby of any sort that is failing to thrive with its zoo family, or is not being properly cared for, not only has the right but the responsibility to remove the baby from the situation that is killing it.
I hope there is no confusion about why this wee monkey only lived 97 days he was physically abused as of day 1 and his mum did not look to be in the best of health herself but if I am honest most of these chimps are not in good condition. Are you sure that the baby was getting enough milk from mum? The mum hardly has enough hair on her body for her baby to hold onto. The chimps that are well muscled and seem to be the ones controlling the activity in the space that the chimps hang out the amount of room is minimal. Lastly was the mum healthy enough to raise a newborn? I don’t like zoos and this video exhibits why. 🎉
These monkeys look in such poor shape. They should of kept the mother and baby by them self for a couple of weeks. It's is the humans fault this creature of God has to parish in humans hands
Those chimps are severely neglected. Most are losing all of their hair. The tops of their ears are curled over. A couple even look like they're developing an eye disease. They also look like they should gain a few pounds. If you're going to have primates or any other wild animal at your zoo, then you need to artificially give them as much of their wild environment as possible. They should also have things in their enclosures to stimulate their minds. Their enclosure is much too small for one chimp, much less sticking them all in that tiny enclosure. This is really sad.
The chimps did try to care for the baby and was gentle (they are known to play rough with their babies), but it is obvious that all of them are not in good health. Prayers that the worldwide breeding program will take note of their care in general and help this zoo get some resources. I can understand them not intervening as it is very dangerous to enter into a primate facility where they have not had training by the staff. Rest in peace little one🙏🙏🙏
Tried to care for it huh? It is not normal at all for a mother chimp (or any other chimp) to hold a baby this young by one arm out away from its body constantly refusing to allow it to cling to her chest! There are also procedures that allow the staff to safely remove a baby chimp from the enclosure so that it can be hand reared. This was clearly a case of neglect and abuse by the chimps and mother as well as the zoo staff.

I’m so angry but not surprised, after I watched a video from a few days ago I predicted this would happen. What the hell is wrong with this zoo, they should be shut down or at the very least remove the chimps, they are obviously not equipped to deal with them in a caring manner. Disgusting 😡😡😡
I blame this zoo, omg so sad, that chimp could of been sent out when furt was not taking care of it probably... I'm so sad but kind of knew this would happen. I hold the zoo responsible for this babies death.
Where is their fur? Do they have a skin disease? The old on has curled floppy ears. Did the baby die because it was passed around too much and not able to nurse? Was mum short of nutrition and not making enough milk? What's going on with these chimps?
Not surprised at all. Poor baby was barely fed, handed off to every other chimp, mother not caring who has it. Beat on the head. I blame the keepers they saw this and knew the history of baby chimpanzee deaths in their facility. My guess it fell to its death.

Not only does the baby look malnourished, but the adults look sickly as well. They're over grooming each other due to boredom. These people lack the knowledge it takes to take care of these great apes. This sickens me.

I was wondering about their dry skin and loss of hair.?? They don't look healthy why? What happened to the lil' baby?
The look so itchy
I agree it doesn't look like they have the room that they need to live right
Despite lots of glowing online reviews, just one look at the videos coming out of this zoo tells you why these animals are suffering in their concrete and iron hell. The baby was likely killed by some form of stress-related neglect / lack of care. They look AWFUL and the owners should be ashamed.

Agreed! I've never seen chimps that look this unhealthy. That baby should've been removed. I don't even know what else to say other then I'm sad and disgusted.💔
@@StoneInMySandal so what is your point? If it's a crappy zoo then it's a crappy zoo. Regardless
Cheers,

I have to give the other chimps credit for trying and doing everything that they knew of to try and take care of that baby. They did their best.
Poor baby can’t hold on to his mama almost hairless body ….these chimps look so sickly , lifeless zoo more like prison.
The baby NEVER should have been passed to adolescent age siblings at it’s age. The ZOO needed to intervene when they first noticed this.
They doing everything to save this baby but not zookeeper
SHOCKING!!! YOU CAN'T CALL THAT A ZOO. IT'S ABUSE OF ALL THESE ANIMALS!!

I was almost crying throughout this video.

✨🌈🙏
You damn right !!!!!!!
Agreed 100%!!! These chimps look like they have mange! They are ripping their hair out from stress and are clearly malnourished … they just look awful…
They're missing most of their fur!
Its probably a blessing that it didnt have to grow up in these horrible conditions. 😢
2 observations: 1) The troop seems to have a bizarre culture... a lot of stress and tension. 2) The baby seemed to have oddly developed genitalia... like she had a disorder.
✨🌈🙏

This is so inhumane. The zookeepers should have stepped in when they realized the mom was not interested in the baby. Any good mom (even chimps) would not let the males take the baby and sling it on one arm or even take the baby away from her for that fact. This place needs to be shut down immediately
✨🌈🙏

A chimpanzee cub born on June 22nd died on September 27th.
Before 10:00 a.m. on September 27, an individual in the herd held the cub in its hands and was hanging. Because the cub was motionless, the herd was housed in a bedroom and the parent and child were isolated, but the cub was visually confirmed dead. .
In the recorded image, at around 9:44 in the morning, two young males of the herd that had been entrusted with their cubs by their mother, Hult, were taking care of them on the bed next to Hult. was gone.
As of 19:00 on the 28th, an autopsy was not possible because Furt did not let go of the child, but as far as I can see from the image, the child was not lifted or hung, so the cause of death is tentatively diagnosed as death due to pressure etc. increase.
どうして亡くなったのですか?

Could anybody tell me please why almost every chimp in this zoo is suffering from hairloss?! Is it a disease or is it a matter of malnutrition?!!
Poor diet, stress, probably mange
Mainly stress, dry air and a little bit of inheritance what I've read😢
悲しくて辛いです
✨🌈🙏
Very sad. Dear Baby, live a beautiful life in heaven. 🌹🌸🌈
And yes, it seems that this zoo is not a healthy place for chimpanzees. I hope they do better for the sake of these precious great apes, so much like us. They would never keep humans in this place. Why chimpanzees?
✨🌈🙏
Yeah they do there called jails and prisons and they even have people come in and take a "tours" so yea we keep humans like this as well
The Zoo keepers should have taken the baby when they knew Furt would not care for it properly. The Zoo is not proper for these Chimpanzees period.
Sicuramente non è una Bella Razza Animale, però pieni di Tenerezza ed Attenzione verso le proprie Creature.
Buona sera, porque a muerto, no entiendo porque
ちゃんとね、君が生まれた意味はあったはずだからそれを見つけて見つめて心に刻むよ。ありがとう。

あなたの言葉 ぐっと来て
泣きました😢
They all look sick! Where is their fur?
Heartbreaking
All of these animals look so skinny!! Are they being cared for correctly ??
So sad 😢 RIP sweet baby girl 🌈🧸

@@GreatApesZoo stop! Just! Stop! You Are the worst!!!!
Shocking life for those chimpsand why wasn't baby rescued.
Como pode essa espécie em extinção e sendo tratados dessa forma , o humano é um animal cruel 😈
Ser humano são os piores animais da face da terra
Deus deve ter se arrependimento muito de ter criado essa espécie!
Oh so sorry. Such a cutie 🥲
Hi can someone tell me in English what happened to this adorable little baby im so heartbroken and for the mother too its soooooo sad
It fell or was dropped
I am so sad to see this dear little baby like this I think poor Furt should have been on birth control her age was not for having another baby. I worried so much over this. This Zoo should be ashamed for allowing this to happen in the first place. I worry that they are all losing their fur. Whilst the zoo feeds them sugar water and not enough nourishment. Thank you for sharing this with us. It has taken me a while to be able to watch the video as it is so sad.
Hair not fur
What a shame how these highly intelligent Chimpanzees live in a such poor environment and losing precious little life like that😭 They all look mulnerished without much hair on them.
Its sad to se how this zoo dont take care of the animals. How can they have miss this.
I am angry and sad.😢😭
Zoo keepers could of saved that poor little baby but instead they just watched.
✨🌈🙏
Mom seems so distracted! And the little one is finding it hard to find enough hair to grab and hold on to! Wish they had been left inside where they could have bonded better and observed more closely.
What do you mean? It is more stressful for them to separate a mom and newborn from the rest of the troop
So, what happened to him, fall, malnutrition..what..?
Fell or was dropped
That enclosure is the saddest the most hopeless place I have ever seen. no living thing could Thrive or be happy there. the people owning it should go. and never be allowed to work with another living thing! because there isn't any Redemption for them. and that baby had no chance I hope they close it down and very quickly at that! peace be.
What a cutie!

@@GreatApesZoo
so unfortunate the baby was so cute, what happened to the little one? I just saw and heard the poor baby scream at 11:38. Thats so sad 😢😢😢😢.
Well how did the baby die..what happened..?
I have never seen a mother chimp or orangutan be passed around like tht . usually the mothers r so over protactivy of the little one's . I am so confused why one of the zoo staff's didn't step in and do something like take and hand raised or found anouther mother to raise .such a beautiful little guy only 97 days old wow , breaks my heart this is so sad the sad part is the staff had to see whe looked to old to produce milk and the other monkey 🐵🐒 r helping take care of tht baby . Hello staff ppl not being mean but I really hope no more babies r born there . Pls everyone don't be mad cuz I said tht . I only speck what I with no professional should of seen ,the sky has opened up and took a sweet baby angel home ú
I still can’t watch this without it making my blood boil.
This zoo needs reporting, I’ve never seen a troop of chimps look so neglected and unhealthy, they all look old and sad, they should be protected
Who can we report it to? I’ve downloaded these videos in case they get taken down.
This “zoo” needs to be shut down. What was the actual cause of death in this 97 day old infant?
I’m so angry but not surprised, after I watched a video from a few days ago I predicted this would happen. What the hell is wrong with this zoo, they should be shut down or at the very least remove the chimps, they are obviously not equipped to deal with them in a caring manner. Disgusting 😡😡😡
✨🌈🙏
Bonobos.
They're chimps, not bonobos. The differences in appearance are subtle, but they do exist.
Why are the beautiful apes shedding there hair???? Looks looks like Bad Condition's!!!!!!
I blame this zoo, omg so sad, that chimp could of been sent out when furt was not taking care of it probably... I'm so sad but kind of knew this would happen. I hold the zoo responsible for this babies death.
✨🌈🙏
I totally agree 🤬
I agree, horrible zoo!
Do these chimps have the ability to be outside?
They look sooo stressed!
✨🌈🙏
